| ALEXANDRIA, VA - The major premise of
the design was to re-establish a lost vista within the estates boundaries.
The old brick walk was re-laid and carried across the driveway. Four custom
white wood piers were placed at the juncture of the drive and walk. The
view crosses the "Oval Lawn" surrounded by a boxwood hedge.
Several old boxwoods were relocated from the opening to create a more
open view of the lawn area. Several volunteer trees were removed at the
other side of the "Oval Lawn" to continue the vista. A white
Lutygen's Bench was placed at the end of the vista to draw the visitors
eye. |
